Hugh Jackman has taken to Instagram to share a song lyric he’s very convinced is actually calling his name.

He’s so convinced, he’s apparently been thinking this since he was 15.

Overnight, Jackman took to Instagram to have a laugh with his followers, recalling the story of how when he was just a teen, he thought Whitney Houston’s, ‘I Will Always Love You’ was made for him.

Captioning the post, “I told my younger self that Whitney Houston was singing to me. I might still believe it. I love you”.

In the video Jackman begins, “By the way, listen to the very last lyric of ‘I Will Always Love You’ by Whitney Houston. She actually says Hugh, I promise you.”

To confirm, he reiterates, “The very last, it is Hugh.”

Jackman goes on to play the track, all the while beaming with joy at the pleasure of taking this little trip down memory lane. At this point he’s regrouped with his viewers to acknowledge that yes, obviously Houston did not write this song for Jackman.

He says, “Well, I made myself believe that when I was 15.”

Let’s be real, Jackman definitely isn’t alone in not only mishearing song lyrics and letting them stick. Sometimes the misheard song lyric can actually stick more than the actual one.

Turns out that’s something Jackman knows all too well.

Right now Jackman is preparing to make his grand return to the world of Broadway in a revival of The Music Man.
