Former Packed to the Rafters star Hugh Sheridan has revealed he never had coronavirus, after revealing over social media yesterday that he had contracted the deadly virus while travelling from LA to Sydney.

Just 24 hours after telling fans he was frustrated and “lonely” after he tested positive for COVID in late August, Sheridan today posted a shirtless black-and-white photo of himself to Instagram, along with a lengthy caption explaining that doctors believe he received a false positive in his initial test.

“My latest test shows a NEGATIVE result for COVID, I’ve been on the phone all night with the RPA Virtual hospital and my night nurse at my Hospital Hotel, it looks very much like it was a false positive on the 28th of August, which makes a lot of sense,” Sheridan, who is currently in hotel quarantine, wrote.

“The process has been a rollercoaster and it’s caused a whirlwind of emotions. It’s late now so I won’t know the next steps till the morning, but I wanted to share with you as so many people have shown SO MUCH kindness and concern, I am still OK.”

He concluded by thanking those on the front line for their dedication, saying “Thank YOU! Thank you again to the health workers for being so informative.”

Yesterday, the actor revealed the news of his initial positive test, saying he was “feeling all the varied emotions” and was not suffering any symptoms of the virus.

“I’ve been quiet for the last few days cause I’ve been feeling all the varied emotions about my positive COVID test,” Sheridan wrote.

“I had a negative result when I arrived (in Australia). I now know all my friends including who took me to LAX airport are all negative so it’s been confusing for me, it’s scary, frustrating & lonely.”

“Knowing now, that no one I saw back home overseas has it means I got it in a very short space of time (in transit or a surface) while I had minimal human contact,” he wrote.

He thanked healthcare workers, adding that the diagnosis had affected his mental health.

“To everyone that received a positive COVID test, I now know how that feels, I wish we could all be together so we could offer each other a shoulder or even better a HUG!” he said, adding, “If I’m not on social media as much it’s not necessarily cause I’m down, it’s cause it can make me feel a lil worse for the moment.”

The news comes amid an announcement from fellow actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson that he and his “entire family” were diagnosed with COVID, but have since recovered.
