Alycia Debnam-Carey, known for Fear the Walking Dead, is set to replace Victoria Pedretti (You) in the lead role of Hulu’s Saint X.

The upcoming Hulu series Saint X will be undergoing some big changes to its cast. The show’s former lead, Victoria Pedretti, who starred in You, has now departed the psychological thriller over creative differences. Saint X, which is being produced by ABC Signature and is shooting in the Dominican Republic, will be replacing Pedretti with Fear the Walking Dead‘s Alycia Debnam-Carey.

At the same time, the set for the show went dark when members of the key grip and electric unit walked off the set due to a dispute in compensation in which the workers weren’t being fairly compensated for overtime hours.

A spokesperson for Disney TV Studios confirmed that a number of employees were then let go after “walking off the job, forcing filming to stop,” adding that they will be replaced with other U.S. union members. This is of course against the law. The NLRA (national labor relations act) has found that if, “the walkout was protected concerted activity because it involved group action related to an issue that affected their working conditions,” then the employer does not have the grounds to terminate an employee.

The set is still dark and awaits the dispute to be dealt with.

Written by Leila Gerstein based on Alexis Schaitkin’s novel, Saint X is a psychological drama told via multiple timelines and perspectives that explore the girl-gone-missing genre. It’s a show about how a young woman’s mysterious death during a placid Caribbean vacation creates a traumatic ripple effect that eventually pulls her surviving sister into a dangerous pursuit of the truth.

Debnam-Carey stars as Emily, a sharp and ambitious woman whose carefully constructed, seemingly perfect life begins to crumble.
