Those ultra-competitive sods at Hungry Jack’s have just unveiled their new fried chicken burger, claiming it as the “biggest, crunchiest and juiciest” in the whole of Australia.
‘Thick’ almost feels like an understatement for the fried whole-breast chicken fillet that’s jammed in a brioche bun – it looks almost like a double decker burger.
The fast food chain supposedly spent more than two years perfecting the original recipe which, if true, really puts a lot of pressure on my next Uber Eats order from them. They even claim that it’s a whopping 40% bigger than its closest rival.
And to be fair to what we’ve seen so far of the burger, it does look like a mighty creation. It comes in three forms: Jack’s Fried Chicken Classic with standard mayo and lettuce; Jack’s Fried Chicken Classic with Spicy Signature Sauce adds an extra delicious kick; Jack’s Fried Chicken Cheesy Bacon increases the artery-clogging meal with cheese and bacon.
“We know Aussies are craving bigger, juicier fried chicken burgers, so Hungry Jack’s is taking the lead with the biggest, thickest, and juiciest fried chicken available,” Scott Baird, Hungry Jack’s chief marketing officer, said. “Aussies are absolutely going to fall in love with Jack’s Fried Chicken Burgers.”
You might be right Scotty. As a recent YouGov study conducted by Hungry Jack’s which surveyed 1,033 Aussies aged 18 and over found out (according to The Daily Mail), 48% of us are willing to give up one of life’s great pleasures to get their hands on a good fried chicken burger.
New research also discovered that more than 2.2 million Aussies eat fried chicken at least once a day or several times a week which might not indicate we’re a healthy lot but does show we know a tasty meal when we see one.

The new fried chicken burger range is available now for pick-up, drive-thru, and delivery if you want to decide for yourself if this is the ‘thick boi’ of the burger world that Hungry Jack’s claims it is.
They also released a new ad for the burger, featuring one young man whose sounds indicate that he’s really feeling the fried chicken love.
