MGM Television has announced it will be creating a television series based on Hunter S. Thompson’s life.
The show will be called ‘Fear and Loathing’, because why obscure what you’re doing? Unlike the 1998 film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, this won’t be an adaptation of any of his works, but an unauthorised overview of his life.
It will be created by Davey Holmes, who worked on ‘Shameless’ and has inked an overall deal with MGM.
“After resisting overall deals for years, I couldn’t be more excited or proud to be embracing this one”, Holmes said of the project.
“It’s a partnership with a studio that makes some of the most exciting television out there. I can’t say enough about the intelligence, daring creativity and overall support MGM has brought to our collaboration.”
There is no word on when this will hit screens, but whoever ends up playing halcyon days Thompson will have their work cut out for them.
