No need to feel bummed while going to IKEA with your mates and see them slam hotdog after $1 hotdog while you stand around with your cart of flat packed items because IKEA has finally brought their beloved veggie dog down under.

It’s no fun rocking up to IKEA as a vegetarian when all your friends are scarfing down as many $1 hotdogs as they can get their hands on while you’re stuck paying for the more price-y vego option, veggie balls (with bonus tomato sauce!).

Now, you can get down to stuffing yourself full as IKEA has finally brought their veggie version of a hotdog to Australia. Although it’s been at other IKEAs around the world for quite some time, it’s finally making its Aussie debut at select shops across the country.

Nope, you won’t have to worry about eating ground up meat trimmings that have been forced into a delightful sausage shape, that is somehow supposed to be appealing. Instead, you’ll be chowing down on a delightful veggie combination for the same exact price: only one dollarydoo.

The vegetarian version of the god-tier IKEA hotdog is chockfull of veggie goodness, including kale, red lentils, ginger, and carrots. Plus, it won’t be served plainly on a roll like the classic hotdog – instead, it’ll be topped with pickled cabbage, roasted onions, and mustard (or tomato sauce, if that’s what you prefer).

Keen to get in on the action? The new veggie hot dog is out today in IKEA Canberra, while also being out at NSW shops in Tempe, Marsden Park, and Rhodes.

Although it’s only at a few IKEA shops right now, the veggie dog will soon be available across Australia in all IKEA shops later this month.
