15-year-old indigenous Australian Cassius Turvey was killed when walking home from school. A metal pole was allegedly used in the attack and a 21-year-old man has been charged with murder in relation to Turvey’s death. Western Australian police have said they are investigating allegations of racial slurs being used.
Indigenous activist Gabrielle Ebsworth has questioned why self-proclaimed feminist and MAFS star Domenica has stayed silent on the matter, and why Abbie Chatfield only briefly addressed the incident. Both women have a combined platform of almost one million Instagram followers.
“3 weeks ago – Acknowledgement of country on a brand trip. Today – silence. Feminism is speaking up when it matters,” Ebsworth caption a screenshot of Domenica at Uluru.
Ebsworth also shared a screenshot of Abbie sharing a news article about Turvey’s death and questioned why the influencer and media personality didn’t make more of an effort to address the topic and bring attention to it.

“Should know better. After everything that happened last year with Brooke, the heavy proclamations of being an outspoken feminist, only to turn around and post a single story between a TikTok and brand post,” she wrote with a screenshot of Abbie’s story.
“Having a platform as a white creator is a privilege nearly no blak women are afforded.”
“If these people truly are allies, they would be outraged alongside us. Using their platforms to amplify blak voices. [sic].”
At the time of Ebsworth’s post, Abbie had only shared one story and Domenica hadn’t addressed Turvey’s death. However, last night Abbie spoke in depth about the matter on her radio show Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield and has posted links and information on her Instagram story. Domenica has stayed silent.
