MAFS alum Ines Basic has addressed speculation that she’s rejoining the upcoming season of the reality show after she appeared to feature in the new trailer.

Over the weekend, Channel 10 dropped the first trailer for season ten of Married at First Sight. During the first few seconds a bride flashes onto the screen that has an uncanny resemblance to season six participant, Ines Basic.

Fans flocked the MAFS Instagram page to question whether Ines was rejoining the experiment this year.

“Am I the only one who thought that was Ines?” someone commented. “I totally saw Ines too,” another added. A third penned, “You’re not the only one. I literally looked three times.”
However, Yahoo Lifestyle Australia reached out to Ines and she confirmed that it isn’t her in the trailer and she won’t be returning to the show.
Ines Doppelganger from the trailer is actually Perth influencer Bronte Schofield. However, not all of the brides and grooms in the recently released trailer will feature on the upcoming season.
In the trailer, a blonde man waits at the altar as his brunette bride walks down the aisle. When they come together the cameras show them turning from black and white into colour. However, a source told Yahoo Lifestyle Australia that this particular couple are hired actors.
“Channel Nine doesn’t want to reveal which couples are matched together so to prevent spoilers they hire actors for the kissing shots,” they said.

Just last year, the channel did a similar thing with the MAFS promo trailer when they hired X Factor finalists Jess and Matt Price. In the clip Jess and Matt can be seen sharing a romantic kiss on a rooftop with fireworks behind them.

Shortly after the trailer aired the couple shared their experience on Instagram.

“We’re tragic MAFS fans, so when Channel Nine hit us up saying they needed a real-life couple to kiss on camera (coz Covid) and asked if we’d be up to putting on our Hollywood acting shoes to re-enact some 50 Shades wedding vibes for their epic new promo… We threw ourselves into the deep end,” they wrote.

“Big love to the incredible crew that brought this together and for all the ridiculous fun and laughs we had on set shooting this.”
