Aussie influencer Luke Erwin is under fire after “showering” a man with $5 bills, telling him not to go “on a f***ing bender” with the money, and posting a video of the exchange to his TikTok profile.
In the video, Luke appears to find a homeless man who is living on the streets in Sydney. He can be heard saying “Here we go, let’s go, baby” as he showers the man in $5 notes. As the man scuffles to pick up the man, Luke says, “It’s all yours, mate. No one’s going to take it from you, you f***ing sick c***.”
He adds, “Don’t get on a f***ing bender with that. That’s yours, brother.”
Luke shared the video with his 544,000 followers on TikTok, an account he presumably makes his living off by posting content and securing lucrative deals.
According to marketing and advertising company, GoInstagram, a Tiktoker with 500,000 followers can expect to earn around USD $1,000 – $3,000+ (approximately AUD $1400 – $4200+) per sponsored image or post. According to Idol Networth, Luke has an estimated net worth of $10 million.
Followers have flooded the comments section berating Luke for “degrading” the homeless man by video the content for his own benefit.
‘The real flex is doing it off camera,’ one user commented. Another sarcastically wrote, “Yeah mate can i have all that money back please i was just filming for tiktok”,
“That was not degrading for him at all…..” A third user commented.

However, the social media star has laughed off the unfavourable comments.
‘To the people that are giving me shit, f*** them, I don’t see them out doing anything,’ he told Daily Mail. He added, “the people that are complaining, they’ve just never donated in their life.”
Social media users have recently been calling out influencers for doing good deeds while being filmed and posting the videos to their accounts.
In July, MAFS star Cam Merchant, who starred in season six of the reality show, was criticised over his ‘random act of kindness act’ video.
In the video, Cam can be seen approaching a mum and introducing himself, while a backing track of ‘Higher Love’ plays.
“My name is Cameron, today I would love to pay for your groceries.” Came tells the woman, before asking the age of her baby and adding: “I’m a new dad as well, and I just understand, I get it.”

While the woman in the video was grateful for Cam’s act, fans on social media are calling him out for posting the exchange “for recognition”.
“Why film this? These videos make me cringe. If you want to be kind, do it, but please put the video down,’ one person commented on the clip.
Another wrote, “‘People who have to share their good deeds all over social media are not doing it out of kindness, they are doing it for recognition.”
