If you’ll be wandering around the alleyways and side-streets (totally different things) of the Inner West this weekend, you might notice a number of fresh pieces of street art appearing on various walls.

15 new works have been commissioned by the Inner West Council for Perfect Match, as both a showcase of local street artists and an eye-catching way to fight problem graffiti.

Artists tapped to brighten up the area include Phibs, Mulga The Artist (whose piece appears above), Jumboist, (that’s his colour explosion on Newtown’s Asylum Seeker Centre), Georgia Hill, Dan Wenn, Rebecca Lourey, Brad Robson, Thomas Jackson, George Rose, Sharon Billinge, Akisiew, Alex Lehours, Nico, Kyle Hughes-Odgers, Sid Tapia, and Hugues Sineux.

This weekend is the fourth Perfect Match, with a number of tours, talks and interactive events running over the two days. These include:

SELF GUIDED ART ON THE STREETS TOUR – Follow the map to meet artists working at Perfect Match sites across Marrickville. Plus, visit some of the best existing street art across the inner west.

WALL2WALL BUS TOUR – Explore artworks across Leichhardt, Balmain, Lilyfield, Annandale and Camperdown.

BIKE TOURS – Gilbert Grace of ARTcycle guide a tour through the colourful streets on wheels;
