Just when we thought we finally had it all figured out, Instagram has gone ahead and launched the Instagram Insider digital magazine.

Yep, if you thought curating your IG grid was stressful enough, we’re now going to have to contend with people vying to get their profiles in this mag.

Okay, on a more positive note, this launch is actually pretty cool. The first edition of Instagram Insider is a 9-page, entirely free PDF that focuses on highlighting key content trends, as well as some of Insta’s most influential creators.

Edition #1 is centred around fashion and beauty and features overviews of rising trends along with links to creators to follow. Australian-Indian influencer Rowi Singh cops a mention for her ‘psychedelia’ inspired beauty looks, and the mag also takes a look at the trend of ‘DIY beauty’.

On top of that, Instagram Insider also includes a Q&A section with Elisa Benson, a strategic partner manager at Instagram.

Benson spills a surprising amount of tea throughout the article, including that Insta is currently testing a new option that will enable users to choose whether their total like counts are displayed on their posts or not.

She also revealed that they are working on new link options in Stories, like link stickers, which could make Stories likes available to all users.

In a statement, Instagram declared the magazine is for anyone who has “ever spent an indulgent weekend scrolling your feed, Explore or Shop tab, liking and saving posts”.

Instagram Insider is about inspiration and discovery – not just of the trends (Crafty quilted fashion! Stick-on beauty products! Vintage streetwear!), but the people behind them,” they continued.

All in all, we know we’re certainly curious to see how the magazine develops. You can download the first edition of Instagram Insider here.
