Can’t get enough of the wizarding world of Harry Potter? Well, author J.K. Rowling has released some new content to keep us going during these dark times.
Trying to get through this age of social distancing seems to be as difficult as defeating he-who-must-not-be-named, himself. I’ve already blasted through a Harry Potter movie marathon, and my book series has never seen so much love. But, I’ve been wondering what else I can entertain myself with from the wizarding world.
Well, my questions have been answered with esteemed author J.K. Rowling bringing us ‘Harry Potter At Home’ which offers “the latest magical treats” to keep us occupied while we’re stuck at inside.
With “special contributions from Bloomsbury and Scholastic, nifty magical craft videos” that can teach you how to draw some of the magical creatures within the realm and “fun articles, quizzes, puzzles and plenty more,” the website aims to entertain both “first-time readers, as well as those already familiar with the wizarding world.”
“We’re casting a Banishing Charm on boredom,” the website exclaims.
With most of us feeling very downtrodden by the news in the world in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the newest aspect of the wizarding world is almost cast as a Patronus by Rowling herself in an attempt to shield us from the depressing state that we’re in.
In addition, Rowling has teamed up with both Audible and OverDrive to make sure that readers can access the first book in the series – Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone.

“The teachers, parents and carers working to keep children’s lives as normal and happy as possible while we’re all on lockdown deserve a bit of magic,” Rowling has explained.
“I hope these initiatives will give children and even adults a happy distraction during their enforced stay-at-home time.”
