Australian singer Jack Vidgen has revealed that a lot of drama was edited out of the first few episodes of The Challenge Australia – so much so that he thinks the first episode could have been turned into four.

“There’s just so much that happened and there’s so much that just didn’t get shown,” he told Yahoo Lifestyle.

“Even the first episode, that could’ve been over four episodes. It’s just insane. All the things that happened, all the conversations, all the tea, there was so much that was cut out. But I guess it has to all fit in an hour time slot or whatever.”

He added, “I was watching it and I was like, ‘Does this make sense to people?’, because there are conversations that aren’t shown.”

Jack – who was eliminated on the second episode of the popular reality show, said that he believes he got a favourable edit.

“There was a lot of stuff that I’m kind of glad wasn’t shown though. There was a lot of s**t I think I said about people that I’m just glad I’ve come out the other end now and I’m keeping my sweet-as-pie reputation.”

Though Vidgen is a popular Australian singer, he got his start on Australia’s Got Talent and has become somewhat of a reality star since. He took part in season 8 of Australian The VoiceAmerica’s Got Talent: The Champions, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Australia, The Masked Singer and now, The Challenge Australia.

The Challenge is a hugely popular reality show that originated in the UK and has spawned 37 seasons. It regularly features reality stars from both the UK and the US and sees the cast members compete against each other in gruelling and physical challenges.

The Australian version of the show has a slightly different format from the original version.  The series, titled The Challenge: War of the Worlds, will see four separate countries – Australia, the UK, the US and Argentina – run their own versions of the show, which is known as The Challenge (part one). The winners from the local series will compete against the other countries in The Challenge (part two) to determine the winner.
