Joe Exotic and his legal team are set to ask President Donald Trump for a formal pardon. The request, which claims Exotic was wrongly convicted for the murder-for-hire plot against Carole Baskin, is set to be filed in the next few days.

Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage, is currently serving a 22-year sentence in Federal prison for charges including animal abuse and murder for hire.

As TMZ report Exotic’s legal team is “preparing a case file that will be sent on to Trump”, alleging that Exotic was wrongly convicted for the plot to kill animal rights activist Carole Baskin.

Thus far, Exotic’s modus operandi for getting the attention of trump involved embellishing a bus with a stick-on decal reading “President Trump Please Pardon Joe Exotic.”

Trump had previously said that he would “take a look” at the option of pardoning Exotic, but knew “nothing about it.” Donald Trump, Jr., however, revealed that he thought the 22-year sentence was “too aggressive.”

If Joe Exotic gets a pardon because of some mid Netflix docu-series I’m absolutely done with this world. Celebrities using fame as a shield for justice is some whack Clinton cover-up bullshit.

Earlier this week it was revealed that Nicholas Cage would take on the role of Exotic in a forthcoming television series directed by Dan Lagana, co-creator and showrunner of the Netflix mockumentary American Vandal.

The project has been in development since June 2019 and is based off the Texas Monthly article Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild, by Leif Reigstad.

The project marks Nicolas Cage’s television debut. We can’t think of more perfect casting for the role of the zany zookeeper turned convicted felon.
