John Cena wanted to chime in about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and decided a Tweet about his character Peacemaker was a good idea.

John Cena plays the character Peacemaker in his show of the same name, which recently aired on HBO Max in an eight-episode mini-series. The DC comic book character is taken very lightly in the show, contrasting hyper-violence with the show’s tone of levity. This is much of what makes the show so good, the creators knew they were dealing with comic book characters and presented them in a manner where they weren’t taking themselves too seriously.

However, this idea stops working when you take the character out of its fictional world and try to insert it into real situations, which is what the Peacemaker actor did in his recent Tweet on the Russian-Ukrainian situation currently unfolding.

Here is what John Cena Tweeted:

@ArizonBrian41 Tweeted that they thought Cena wasn’t really grasping the full weight of the situation. They added this to mock Cena’s sentiment:

Meanwhile Cena, “I AM A COMIC BOOK ACTOR, IF MY CHARACTER WAS REAL, I WOULD STOP IT FROM HAPPENING””

This Twitter user points out that Cena had a much different stance when it came to his defense of Taiwan’s freedom. Cena famously apologized to China for referring to Taiwan as an independent country.

User @natynaty0620 brought into question that it would be disrespectful if Cena was using this situation to promote his show and continued by saying although the character Peacemaker isn’t real, Cena’s wealth and influence is.

This person seems like a borderline Peacemaker fan account and said, “Hell yes!!! Channel the inner peace! [peace sign emoji]” and showed off their baby’s cosplay. They were completely vibing with anything related to Peacemaker.

Yet another user came out in support of the idea, saying that the Peacemaker trio could end the war currently unfolding.

@residentgrigo showed concerns over whether John Cena was using the war to advertise the new show, pointing out that no low is too far for us to reach.

Another person chipped in at the inappropriate timing of the situation. They point towards the chaos in the world and tell Cena that this is not the right time to talk about his show.

The celebs are officially back at it again.
