Taylor Swift has been called out by the sister of her former best friend, Karlie Kloss, for being “fatphobic” in her new song and music video called ‘Anti-Hero’.
Swift dropped her new album Midnight on October 21, and the record included the song Anti-Hero which came with an accompanying music video.
On Twitter, Swift described the video as showing her “nightmare scenarios and intrusive thoughts.” One of those scenarios included a clip that showed the pop singer stepping on a scale that tells her she’s “FAT.”
The jarring scene has been discussed by both high profile celebrities and low-profile social media users. Perhaps the most controversial person to address the issue was Karlie Kloss’s sister Kariann Kloss.
While Kariann is much less famous than her supermodel sister Karlie, her negative reaction to Taylor’s new song caused chaos with the singer’s fans, otherwise known as Swifties. Particularly because Karlie and Taylor were best friends for years, but suddenly distanced themselves from each other a few years ago and have never revealed why. It’s rumoured that Tayor’s bonus track song on Evermore titled ‘It’s Time To Go’ is about Karlie.
Today, Karlie’s sister Kariann reposted a tweet to her Instagram story that called Taylor Swift “fatphobic”. While Kariann has since deleted the story and deactivated her IG account, screenshots of her former story are doing the rounds online.
The Tweet that Kariann reposted read; “I understand having an eating disorder and body issues. but specifically using the word “fat” in such a derogatory context explicitly sends the message that being fat is a bad thing. it villianizes fatness. i’m disappointed that this is the message taylor swift chose to send. [sic].”

However, Whoopi Goldberg defended Swift from the backlash she has recieved. On Tuesday’s episode of The View, she said; “Just let her have her feelings. If you don’t like the song, don’t listen to it.”
She added, “Why are you wasting your time on this? Leave that girl — you know, you all want to say something about Taylor Swift. Leave her ass alone, OK?”
