Radio and television presenter Kate Langbroek has slammed KIIS FM for not treating her and her co-workers as well as they treat Kyle and Jackie O.

Langbroek works for the station alongside Monty Dimond and Yumi Stynes on The 3PM Pick Up, but it was recently announced the show won’t be returning next year.

“After 8 years of doing the @3pmpickup on the wireless it’s time to hang up the headphones,” Dimond wrote on Instagram last month. She continued, “Bummer that the big wigs at KIIS couldn’t present acceptable terms for us to move forward”.

Now, Langbroek has shed some more light on why The 3PM Pick Up won’t be renewed in an interview on New.com.au’s podcast I’ve Got News For You.

“Well, look, I’m just gonna say this: Sometimes you just can’t come to terms. And if you can’t come to terms, it’s best you part ways,” she told the host.

The Australian comedian added, “What they do with their radio station is their business and it’s no secret that KIIS is very geared around Kyle and Jackie.”

“Kyle and Jackie are amazing, I totally understand that, but if you want other stars in your stable you have to be prepared to treat them like stars and if you don’t want to do that, that’s fine.”

ARN, the company that owns KIIS FM responded to Langbroek’s statement by wishing her and her co-hosts the best of luck with their future endeavours.

We would like to thank Kate, Monty and Yumi for their amazing contribution to ARN over many years.

“Their infectious humour and relatable stories have seen 3PM Pick Up enjoy continued ratings success and we are truly sad to see them finish up at the end of the year.

“We wish them all the very best in the future.”
