Part-time Studio 10 host and full-time flop Kerri-Anne Kennerley has continued her tirade of Very Bad Opinions™️. In this weeks instalment, Kerri-Anne has come to the defence of disgraced musician R. Kelly.
In case you’re unaware, earlier this week R. Kelly announced that he would be touring Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Obviously, the news that R. Kelly was planning to grace these golden sands was met with upheaval from everyone… except Kerri-Anne.
As Junkee reports, Kennerley came to Kelly’s defence on Thursday’s episode of Studio 10. When co-host Angela Bishop and Joe Hildebrand announced that Kelly should be denied a visa on character grounds. To which Kennerley, determined to dig herself into a hole so deep she hits the earth’s core, responded with “For me, you’ve got to prove those allegations. It’s got to go to court. You can’t just randomly say ‘we think you did this, this and this’.”
Bishop then highlighted Harvey Weinstein’s removal from the head of the Weinstein company after the influx of sexual harassment and assault allegations laid against him, even though nothing has been “proven.”
Guest Benedict Brook posed the question that “The concern is you set a precedent, and then you say that anyone with allegations against [them] can be used as a reason to kick [them] out of the country.”
