Kevin Smith, famous for Clerks, is slinging a new coin. He posted a photo of the limited edition Silent Bob coin to his Instagram.

Anyone who has seen a Kevin Smith film knows that Silent Bob is an insightful man who provides significant commentary on the characters in the story. The director, who plays Silent Bob, has appeared as the character in his directorial debut and seminal work Clerks, as well as Chasing Amy, Mallrats and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

More broadly, he appears in the View Askewniverse; a fictional universe created by  Smith, featured in several films, comics and a television series. It’s named after the writer and director’s  production company, View Askew Productions.

If you though the news of a Clerks 3 movie was exciting (and featuring Gerard Way scoring the soundtrack), then get your hands literally on the new currency.

You wouldn’t get this coin at the Royal Australian Mint, or in Grandma’s collection, that’s for sure.

“Silent Bob is money,” Smith wrote. “Literally, thanks to the fine folks who make our awesome @jayandsilentbob shirts at @thechivery! The first one of these @thechive ever made featured Bill Murray – so I’m sure as shit flattered to be their number 2 choice with this Silent Bob Collectible Coin! When #TheChive initially approached me about coining a phase of my work, I predicted that the coins would sit on shelves. But The Chivery had confidence that Silent Bob would spend. ‘It’s like a challenge coin,’ they said. ‘It’s gonna be a challenge to sell,’ I told them. And you proved me wrong: they’re almost sold out already. If you’re into this kinda currency, click the link is in my bio above! (For mature audiences who like to spend immaturely only!).”

Yes, you read right, the Chive previously made a Bill Murray coin.

The website to purchase the coin already indicates that they’re selling extremely fast, but in this time of quarantine, is anyone judging anyone for their online purchases?
