After Kevin Spacey’s disgusting fall from grace over the past few years, to say that the former actor being cast in a new film role is shocking is an understatement.

As reported by ABC NewsSpacey has been cast in an Italian film called L’uomo Che Disegno Dio, which in English translates to The Man Who Drew God.

The film is set to be directed by Franco Nero, with the film also starring Nero’s wife, Vanessa Redgrave. While Spacey has refused to comment on the news of his new role, Nero told ABC News, “I’m very happy Kevin agreed to participate in my film.” He continued, “I consider him a great actor and I can’t wait to start the movie.”

When the accusations against Spacey first came to light back in 2017 in the wake of the #MeToo era, it seemed that he would be blacklisted from making films forever. Well at least in Hollywood it seems that still remains true.

In October of 2017, The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences backed out of honouring the actor with its 2017 International Emmy Founders Award. The following month, his agency, Creative Artists Agency cut ties, with Netflix following suit the day after.

By the end of the month, the producers from House of Cards announce that they will be continuing production without him. As 2018 is well underway, charges and suits are beginning to be filed against the former actor, while more continue to come forward with alleged sexual assault allegations.

Majority of the accusers were never granted the justice they deserve, with Spacey and his legal team making it very difficult for them to do so.

With Spacey’s last role dating back to 2018 in Billionaire Boys Club, which reportedly ranked as the record low gross film in history, making just $618 on opening weekend, you have to wonder – who on earth is going to watch the upcoming film?
