Ahead of the premiere of Ten’s new reality series, The Challenge Australia 2022, competitor and former boyfriend Konrad Bien-Stephen has made a candid admission about his sexuality.

In a new interview with The Daily Telegraph, Konrad got candid about his journey in discovering his sexuality, while clarifying his and Abbie Chatfield’s relationship timeline amid rumours he hooked up with Challenge co-star Megan Marx while still dating Abbie.

“I have been thinking about it a lot lately and I would probably say I was pansexual if I was going to say anything,” he told The Telegraph in regards to how he chooses label his sexuality.

“For me, all of my relationships have been with females. It is hard to say because I want to be respectful in saying it but I guess I haven’t met a guy yet that I have wanted to date or sleep with in a sense.

“It is only a new thing for me to think about and navigate. Within the building industry, it is an interesting territory to navigate.”

Discussing the juicy rumours that he cheated with fellow Bachelor alum Megan, Konrad insisted the hook-up came after he and Abbie’s split.

“Abbie and I had broken up a month before going in the house [to film] so I was very much single,” he said.

“I wasn’t going in there looking for love or for any type of relationship or anything, that wasn’t my mindset going in.”

He went on to say that his dalliance with Megan was all in good fun, and nothing too serious.

“It is quite clear that Megan and I hook up from leaked footage and what has been spoken about already,” he said.

“We still talk, we are still friends. No, we are not dating.”

Previously, So Dramatic! has reported that Konrad had moved out of the house he and Abbie shared before heading off to film the new reality series earlier this year.

“They were living apart before Konrad went to film The Challenge,” a source told the publication. “They were avoiding each other like ships in the night, which wasn’t that hard because of how busy Abbie is anyway.” The source added, “they didn’t see each other much anyway”.

In a July interview with Stellar, Abbie told the publication that she only saw Konrad “maybe two days a week” because of her busy work schedule.

Abbie later confirmed in August that she and Konrad had parted ways.

“There’s reasons why I haven’t confirmed this yet but there’s been a lot of speculation and articles and rumours,” she said in a video at the time.

“I guess I wanted to confirm that yeah, Konrad and I have broken up. We’ve been broken up for a couple of months now.

“No one did anything bad or awful, there’s no drama to it. It was not because we were in an open relationship… Nothing bad happened.”

She added, “I wasn’t being deceitful by not telling people, there was a reason why there was a delay in telling you all,” she added.

“But I just didn’t want to be caught by paparazzi seeing someone else or whatever… him not living here anymore.”
