Thanks to an accidental on-air grilling by Kyle Sandilands on her own show, Allison Langdon has finally addressed rumours that she’s switching roles to anchor A Current Affair after whispers she’s set to take over the role from Tracy Grimshaw.

Following the announcement that Kyle’s radio co-host, Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, would be taking a hiatus from their programme to deal with chronic health difficulties, Ally and Karl Stefanovic asked Kyle on to their breakfast programme on Monday.

But Kyle swiftly shifted the focus back to Ally, asking if the persistent rumours that she will take Tracy Grimshaw’s position as ACA presenter next year were correct.

“Are you doing A Current Affair? Just tell us. Have they spoken to you about A Current Affair?” Kyle asked Ally, who was visibly flustered.

“I am going to do the Today show, do A Current Affair and coach the Wallabies … and I reckon I can be the Premier of Victoria,” she joked to the shock jock.

Not satisfied with her answer, Sandilands prodded, “Let’s stop the speculation. Are you doing A Current Affair? Or has Jackie gone off to do A Current Affair? I don’t know. Just tell us,” he said.

“I think (ACA) might be Jackie’s gig,” Ally laughed, adding, “Because I sit next to this face, and who could leave this face?”

“Well his face has been left before, multiple times,” Kyle joked, to which Ally responded, “He can’t afford any more therapy bills, I will stay and annoy him.”

In 0one final-ditch attempt, Kyle again asked, “Are you doing it or not?”

“Far out!” Ally laughed before Karl chimed in: “With all this questioning, he should be doing A Current Affair!”

In other Kyle and Jackie O news, it was revealed today that Jackie O is stepping down from her radio show due for the foreseeable future to health reasons.

One-half of The Kyle & Jackie O Show announced the shock news on Monday morning, revealing that she’d been struggling with her health ever since contracting COVID-19 earlier this year.

As a result, Jackie O was advised by her doctor to take a much-needed break from her radio co-hosting duties in order to give her body time to recuperate.

“Ever since picking up that virus, I’ve been to the doctor several times and he said because I’ve been pushing myself every day, after the show all I’ve been doing is sleeping and I’m not getting better,” she explained on her radio show.

“I just have to take some time off,” she added. “I’m ending the show today. As in now.”
