Kyle Sandilands has confirmed on air this morning that he is now engaged to his former staffer turned girlfriend of two years after rumours of their engagement surfaced over the weekend.

“I apologise to the women of the world, as I am officially off the market,” Sandilands revealed on the Kyle and Jackie O Show this morning.

He told listeners that his now fiancée, Tegan Kynaston, had “no clue” the proposal was happening.

A video on the radio show’s Twitter reveals that Sandilands spared no expense in the event, hiring a venue and organising fireworks while the couple were on a trip to Port Douglas.

Sandilands’ manager Bruno Bouchet revealed all except an actual confirmation, saying the radio show host had special news to announce during his KIIS FM show on Monday.

“It’s their news to announce, not mine,” Bouchet said. “But if you do want to know, make sure you tune into Kyle and Jackie O on Monday.”

Kynaston previously worked as Kyle Sandilands’ personal assistant when the couple became official in 2019. She is 15 years younger than him.

The two grew closer together after Sandilands split up with previous girlfriend Imogen Anthony.

While Sandilands claims that the 19-year age gap between the two was the major factor for their separation, Anthony revealed more on Big Brother VIP last year.

She admitted on the show that she had a dream about her ex, and woke during the night “having a moment.” While speaking to fellow contestant, Anthony discussed the reasons for them growing apart.

“He was just working so much, it was just work, work, work, work, work,” she said. “I wanted to have kids, and we just kind of grew apart.

“I’m thinking, like, what other choice do I have? This is the person I’ve been with for so long, of course I’m going to hang on a whim, maybe … do we get back together? All of a sudden, things were too undeniable.”
