Community theatre group,Lane Cove Theatre Companyopens its 2016 season with Michael Gow’s much loved play, Away.

Set against the backdrop of the Vietnam Way, the play takes a nostalgic look at Australia and Australians. By focusing on three different families on Christmas vacation in 1967,Away delves into what it means to be separated by diversity and also drawn together by conflict.

Director Peter Farmer describes the play as “a delicious mixture of comedy, drama and social commentary on class, Vietnam and the family.”

Awayis an HSC syllabus text and Q&A sessions will follow every Friday evening performance.

Away presented by Lane Cove Theatre Company runs18 March to 9 April at The Performance Space, St Aidan’s.
