The Sydney based artist is now part of a new collaboration with tech21.

Prolific tattoo artist Lauren Winzer has been conjuring a presence for herself within Hollywood (and celeb culture in general) that is strong and highly sought after. She’s tattooed the likes of Post Malone, Miley Cyrus and Elsa Pataky…and that’s just a few examples of Winzer’s building clientele list.

At the moment, one of Winzer’s hot projects is a unique collaboration with tech21, where her custom designs have been applied to a series of phone cases. If you’re in the market for a phone case that’ll add extra oomph to your accessory list, check out the tech21 x Lauren Winzer collection here.

We find out a bit more about the gal trusted to ink Posty’s face though, and how this new collaboration came to be.

I linked up with tech21 at the end of last year to launch their Custom service and the thing I was the most excited about was having another way to express myself.” Winzer explains.

“I love customising everything, from my body to my car, and now my phone. Making mundane things colourful and personalised just brings that little bit more happiness to my life.”

The designs – colourful and fluid – remain true to Winzer’s own style. Now eight and a half years in the tattoo game, this artist knows the exact type of artist she is and her work reflects it perfectly.

“I stayed pretty true to what I like and let tattooing really influence my art for these Custom phone cases.” she says. “I guess instead of outside art influencing me, I influenced myself this time!”

“I really love the crystals. They’re so important to me personally as they were what I bought to tattooing that no one else was doing and really helped forge my future art path within tattooing – from the pastels to the “glitter” effect I do now!”

When it comes to her day to day work as a tattooist, over the years Winzer has noticed changes in her industry and also, the relationship people have with the art of tattoo in general.

“I think people are more into expressing themselves personally with tattooing instead of just collecting random tattoos or replicating art.” she says. “For example, using personal memories to make a tattoo design come to life.”

And of her famous clients? Ain’t a big deal. A client is a client…and eventual friend.

“I’ve been lucky enough that pretty much everyone, regardless of their job, has acted pretty normally towards me.” Winzer explains.

“For example, showing up to the shop and not asking for any special favours – they always offer money and never expect anything for free. For me, I’m nervous all the time and with every tattoo I do, so nothing different here!”
