With a smooth and soulful voice that erupts with emotion after each and every line, Leah Flanagan is an undiscovered gem in the Australian music scene.

Hailing from the Northern Territory, Flanagan recently relocated to Sydney to record her new EP with help from Jim Mognie (Midnight Oil) and Niall Anderson (Gin Wigmore), with the song ‘Everything’ being the first single released. Littered with beautiful reverberating guitar twangs and Flanagan’s understated vocal approach, ‘Everything’ is a sign of good things to come from the EP (due for release in mid-2014).

To accompany the single, Flanagan is embarking on a brief tour, playing three shows on the east coast, with one in Sydney. For someone who has already collaborated with the likes of Sinead O’Connor, John Cale and Meshell Ndegeocello, seeing Flanagan in an intimate setting is an opportunity not to be passed up.

Flanagan plays Venue 505 on Thursday March 27.
