Filming of the tenth season of MAFS Australia is well underway, and so far, three women have been revealed as participants in the upcoming season.

Two of the women, Melinda Willis and Tahnee Cook, are both prominent social media personalities, with the former boasting 150,000 followers on Instagram alone, and the latter has over 45,000 followers across her social media channels and runs The Like Us Girls podcast.

The third woman who is set to become unveiled on our screens appears to be far less interested in her social media following; 31-year-old Alyssa Barmondem, baker and mother of one that hails from Sydney’s northern beaches.

However, while Alyssa does have a relatively “normal” job, the Instagram account for her bakery @AlyssaBakesCakes has tens of thousands of followers, because of course it does.

Alyssa was spotted filming MAFS scenes in Sydney by Daily Mail Australia, and the publication caught her on camera in multiple photos. Furthermore, the baker’s business Instagram account has been switched to private, and she updated her bio to state she’s not currently taking orders -both of which are further evidence that she’s busy filming for MAFS 2023.

Alyssa will be joined by Tahnee Cook and Melinda Willis in season ten of MAFS. Willis is particularly popular on social media, with 150,000 followers. She’s also followed by past MAFS cast members KC Osborne (season six), Jules Robinson (season six), Joshua Pihlak (season seven) and Jason Engler (season seven).

Some MAFS fans will be pleased to hear that Alyssa doesn’t appear to be as involved in social media as Melinda and Tahnee. A reddit thread sparked multiple comments from users slamming the show for casting influencer, and accusing the participants of only going on the show to increase their social following.

“I want to see Sharon, the sparky apprentice or Eric the machine operator. We don’t need people fame hunting,” wrote one person. Another penned, “This. I have 0 interest in watching influencers who are going to give even more of a staged performance.”

Filming of season ten of MAFS reportedly began in June this year and is slated to premiere in early 2023.
