Live Nation Australia and New Zealand this morning launched a Family Entertainment Division.

It will be headed by Graham Kennedy, a 30-year veteran of the entertainment industry. He was most recently Senior Manager of Global Touring for TheWiggles, where he managed their touring and live events across 10 countries.

He also was for eight years Label and Marketing manager with Festival Mushroom and then Warner Records, heading up their Children’s division and overseeing all Disney music activities within Australia.

The new Family Division follows the launch of the Live Nation Australia’s Comedy Division in 2012. It has enjoyed sell-out tours by Dave Chappelle, The Wayans Brothers, Jason Byrne and Alan Davies.

As more comedy tours are anticipated, the Comedy division is also being expanded. Kate Minchin is joining as a comedy promoter. She previously worked at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and at Gilded Balloon at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Michael Coppel, Melbourne-based president and CEO of Live Nation Australia, said: “We’re very excited to welcome both Graham and Katie to the Live Nation Australia family, broadening the offering of world class entertainment of all types to our audience in Australia and New Zealand. We look forward to greatly expanding our activity in these areas over the coming years.”
