Woolies has unveiled the latest incredibly dangerous, superbly decadent addition to its bakery section — a Lotus Biscoff cake.
It’s the kind of cake that harnesses the power to incite a French Revolution. The cake features layers of Biscoff-infused buttercream, plush layers of apple puree-indebted sponge, and drizzles of Biscoff spread, decorated with a whole biscuit and its crumbles. The real kicker here is that the whole thing is vegan. It’s one of those numbers that I am wary of trying, out of fear it’ll open Pandora’s box of gluttony.
We are shuddering at the thought of how delicious the marriage between this sanctuary of sweetness and a pitch black espresso would be.
The cakes are available at all Woolworths stores and select Metro joints. One of these little devious numbers will set you back $8.
“We wanted to create something new that combines our popular cakes with a much loved, customer’s favourite biscuit and spread,” Michael Gullery of Woolworths said in a statement.
“The result is a decadent dessert covered with the iconic biscuit and buttercream. Since the world famous Lotus Biscoff biscuit is vegan, we carried that through to the creation of our cake, for all Lotus Biscoff and vegan cake lovers to enjoy.”

Lotus Biscoff is kind of having it’s time in the sun at the moment. Last month, Krispy Kreme unveiled its latest collaboration with the beloved Belgian spread with two spanking new donuts.
The first donut, the Lotus Biscoff Ring, features an original glazed donut covered in the spread and finished off with a hand drizzled swirl of Biscoff Creme. Meanwhile, the Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake donut is filled with cream cheese frosting, Biscoff Spread, Biscoff crumb and chocolate ganache drizzle.
