Dark States – Heroin Town is the latest in what is already an impressive, incisive collection of Louis Theroux documentaries. It’s slated for release next month, debuting October 8 on BBC, with dates for other territories announced soon.
A press release says the doco is a look at “America’s love affair with prescription painkillers” that has “led to widespread dependency on opiates.
“Louis spends time with the user community caught in the vice-like grip of drug misuse and follows the emergency services struggling to cope with multiple overdoses each day.”
