Love Island star Jordan has appeared in court over charges of mid-range drink driving after he was caught driving a golf buggy on the Gold Coast while under the influence. Jordan please guilty to the charges at Southport Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
The reality star was pulled over by police at around 3:30am on November 13 after being spotted travelling on the buggy. He had been returning from the service station where he had picked up some food.
According to court docs, police noticed “a strong smell of liquor” coming from Dowsett, and said his speech was “partially slurred”.
Upon returning a positive test for alcohol, Jordan told the cops that he’d consumed “a moderate amount of liquor” before driving. In his second blood alcohol ratio test, he returned a reading of 0.159.
Jordan’s lawyer told the court that the reality star was visiting his friend who lives inside a gated community.
“His friend [uses] the golf buggy to travel around the gated community,” Jordan’s lawyer, Mr Fraser explained. “[Jordan] had originally entered the golf buggy as a passenger and travelled a short distance to the closest petrol station to get some food.
“However, the defendant made the stupid decision to get behind the wheel for the travel back.”

Jordan faced a possible 12 month license ban because of the offence, but his lawyer asked that the sentence be reduced because he needed a license for work.
“He left school early so he could start his apprenticeship as an electrician [and] he’s worked in the industry for the past eight years,” Mr Fraser said.
“He’s only been with his current employer for three weeks and he won’t be able to fulfil his obligations without a licence.
“So that will obviously affect his ability to earn an income.”
Magistrate Mark Bamberry reduced Jordans driving ban to six months and said: “I can understand you probably thought you weren’t doing anything wrong, in your intoxicated state.
“But you’ve since learnt that it is (an offence) and it’s now going to cost you your job according to (a letter from) your employer.”
