Love Island Australia star Isabelle Green was asked to explain her transphobic comments. She sent in a tirade.

Shortly after claiming that being trans wasn’t ‘for’ her, Love Island Australia star Isabelle Green has doubled down on her transphobic comments.

On Thursday, Green posted – and then deleted – on her Instagram page: “This whole trans[gender] thing, nope not for me. It’s got to stop – it’s called mental illness. Kkk [sic] bye.”

Now, in a statement to So Dramatic!, Green has commented and doubled down on her remarks, wrongly claiming that being trans was a ‘dangerous loophole’ pedophiles were using to escape persecution.

“When referring to ‘mental illness’ there’s a dangerous loophole pedophiles are using to transition, use a new identity & then come back into society as this new person to then re-offend, rape & molest children because they cannot be tracked. It’s a whole movement and it’s very dangerous for children.” She told So Dramatic!

Green went on to add: “There’s also trans-child & furies [sic] which are generally adult males who have decided they’re now a ‘child’ and/or ‘animal’ & have been allowed to play with small children, use their amenities etc & there’s been many cases of these children then being abused.”

Inaccuracies in her statement notwithstanding, Green claimed that she did not ‘hate or dislike’ trans people. “They can do whatever they like to their body, it’s got nothing to do with me.” she said, before adding that she was only speaking up for the ‘safety’ of children – regardless of what the facts say, it seems.

“Even though these grown adults have decided to identify as something else they still have the hormones of an adult which means they have sexual tendencies, whereas children have not developed these tendencies as they haven’t even hit puberty so people need to understand this is a “mental illness” & it’s putting children at risk.” she said.

“Pedophilia is one of the most prominent issues in society & the trans loophole is being used to abuse children. As a mother it’s highly disturbing & I know many parents feel the same.” Green added.

The narrative of pedophilia has been used frequently in transphobic conversations as a tool to persecute the community, despite having no basis in facts. A 2021 study stated that trans people were instead four times more likely to experience violent crime than cisgender people.
