Neil Gooding Productions has announced that Lucy Maunder’s new show Irving Berlin: Songs In The Key Of Black will be coming to Hayes Theatre Co in April.
Lucy Maunder is one of Australia’s leading ladies of music theatre. She scored Helpmann, Glugs and STA nominations for her performance as Rizzo in Grease, as well as playing Janet in a production of The Rocky Horror Show.
Irving Berlin was a Russian-born composer who rose to fame in New York for his amazing songs and unrelenting work ethic. It’s estimated he wrote over 1,500 songs in his 60-year career, with 25 of those songs going to number one. He was nominated for eight Academy Awards for songs such as ‘White Christmas’ and ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’.
Lucy Maunder’s Irving Berlin: Songs In The Key Of Black runs at Hayes Theatre Co from Tuesday April 7 until Sunday April 12. Tickets start at $35 and are available from the venue’s website.
