The official Star Wars website just confirmed Luke and Grogu are on the same planet that is shown in the Sequel Trilogy.

StarWars.com confirmed on their site the planet Luke Skywalker is training Grogu on in The Book of Boba Fett Episode 6 is the same one shown in scenes from the Sequel Trilogy.

“We’ve glimpsed Luke’s storied temple in comic books and on film, although to be fair it was mostly rubble and flame in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Now, we turn back the clock to see the new Jedi school at its inception, with ant droids working hard to place every stone on the first humble hut.”

Its location was a secret only known among the Jedi Order, despite this information, the Mandalorian Din Djarin was able to quickly find the planet with seemingly little effort. It’s unclear how Din Djarin was able to figure it out. The name of the planet is still unknown at this time.

Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Temple was diligently built by his ant droids during 9 ABY (years after the battle of Yavin), almost two decades before its destruction by Ben Solo with a powerful lightning storm.

The Book of Boba Fett: Episode 6 – Official discussion

While it seemed obvious during Episode 6 that the planets were the same, anti-sequelers such as the users on r/saltierthancrait were hoping this would lead to a retcon of the sequels. Some users on Twitter also pointed out that the background is different from the mountains, although this could just be a different angle. Not to mention that if a significant event occurred the landscape could be cleared or changed over the two decades from when it next appears in live-action, as the location would be home to powerful Jedi who can move the Earth using the Force, it’s not out of the question.
Episode 6 of The Book of Boba Fett not only saw Luke Skywalker’s return, but also featured many new and returning characters from Star Wars past. The episode was chalked full of easter eggs and cameos and with rising tensions between Boba Fett and the Pyke syndicate, the finale couldn’t arrive sooner.
