All he wanted was a Maccas burger – so imagine this customer’s surprise when his food contained something else.
If you feel queasy or paranoid about finding something weird in your food, look away. Brendan Prpic had just wanted to get an Angus burger from McDonald’s, but his appetite was killed after he found a beetle in his bun.
Prpic shared his experience on social media, sharing a picture of the bun and expressing shock. According to Prpic, he did complain to the manager on site, who refunded him and assured him an investigation would be conducted, but he’s rightfully suspicious of all fast food for the time being.
“I kindly asked to speak to the manager and she said she had never seen it before.” Prpic said, as reported by the Herald Sun.
“I’m a bit put off all food now to be honest,” he said. “Now I’m a bit suss on how all food is processed, how things are stored.”
In a statement to the Herald Sun, McDonald’s assured they were looking into the incident. “McDonald’s takes food and drink safety extremely seriously. Our restaurants follow strict cleaning, hygiene, product inspection and preparation processes to ensure the quality of our food.” a representative told the publication.
Earlier this week, another fast food chain found themselves at the receiving end of a customer’s ire after a woman found not one, but three insects in her chips.

A customer in Queensland called KFC out on Facebook, posting picture of her chips which had a generous topping of bugs. “I love my KFC chips with a side of … whatever the f*** this thing is,” she said.
While she was refunded by the outlet, she has no plans of heading there for the foreseeable future. “I’m sorry but $20 does not make up for that s**t, it probably happens so often, yuck.” she said.
