Do you love an Americano coffee but wish it had more of an Australian flavour? You’re in luck for a limited time only thanks to Macca’s.

The fast food chain has announced the launch of an intriguing new menu item, available solely to Aussies. The new coffee, called the Australiano, adds an unexpected combination of native wattleseed and chai into the mix.

If you want to see if the Aussie version of the Americano is up to scratch, you’ll have to act fast: the Australiano is available for a limited time only from this week onwards. It’s set to cost $4.75, although prices may vary around the country.

If you don’t fancy paying that much, however, some Macca’s fans will get to try the coffee creation for free when McCafé hits the road later this month on a huge trip up the Eastern Seaboard from Melbourne to Queensland.

There will be eight stops along the way, with the Australiano given away for absolutely nothing to curious coffee aficionados (see full dates below).

Speaking of Aussie and Macca’s, The Kid Laroi recently revealed his celebrity meal collaboration with the fast food favourite. The acclaimed Aussie rapper’s meal is simple but classic: an iconic Cheeseburger with no pickles (proving to be a controversial decision), medium Fries, six Chicken McNuggets with barbecue sauce, with a medium Frozen Coke to wash it all down.

“I’m a huge Macca’s fan and have great memories of visiting my local Macca’s in Waterloo, Sydney for a Frozen Coke on a hot Aussie day,” Laroi recalled. “My all-time favourite Macca’s order is a Frozen Coke, Chicken McNuggets and Cheeseburger, but I’m definitely not about the pickle!”
