Farmer Wants a Wife runner-up Madi Simpson has shot down rumours about her relationship with one of the show’s former leads, Matt Trewin, but hinted that they may have hooked up.

Last week, gossip publication So Dramatic! reported that Matt is in love with Madi Simpson, who came runner-up as one of Will Simpson’s women in the recently wrapped season. However, she has now contacted the publication to say that her and Will aren’t together.

“That ship has sailed,” she said. “Pretty sure he’s made a move on every single FWAW 2022 reject.”

She added that her and Will are just friends and “there wasn’t anything serious there to begin with.”

“[We] literally only hung out twice!” she said. “We’re still good friends and talk often, but I think he has a reputation of being a bit more of a sleaze than I realised.”

The source that originally claimed Madi and Matt were in love, told the publication; “Maddy [sic] from Will’s farm is dating Matt from the previous season. She was down in his hometown a couple of weekends ago and went to the pub fundraiser event.“I’m a local, and she’s fit in pretty well, looks like a ball of fun and was very social, always talking to someone new. The whole town has been grilling him ever since!”

The added, “A mate said they’ve been chatting since March/April when the show finished filming… They both looked really happy. She wasn’t glued to his hip either and spent a lot of time getting to know the locals.”

Madi was left broken hearted after Will Simpson chose Jess Cova over her as his final pick in season 12 of Farmer Wants a Wife, which finished airing earlier this month.
