Aussie reality stars, content creators and soap actors have turned out for the launch of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

The premiere took place in Sydney on Wednesday night, ahead of the show’s launch on Prime Video on Friday. Attendees included Married At First Sight alumnus Cameron Merchant, who appeared on the show in 2019 and met his now (actual) wife Jules Robinson. Robinson appeared to not be in attendance, so he appeared on the brown carpet solo.

Other attendees included lawyer turned influencer Tammy Christina, as well as content creator Jamie Azzopardi, Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac, and actor, singer and dancer Keiynan Londsdale. Multiple Home & Away stars including Hemsworth cousin Luke Van Os also turned out to watch the first two episodes of the series.

Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power is set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

“Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-Earth,” publicity for the show said.
