MAFS star Dan has opened up about the wedding guest he’s now dating and explained when the timeline of their relationship.
Dan was paired with Sandy on the hit reality show. While the pair seemed to get off to a good start, their relationship quickly deteriorated as the weeks went by. Both parties wrote ‘leave’ on their decision cards in last night’s episode, and exited the experiment.
Shortly after the premiere, it was revealed in the media that Dan was dating his wedding guest Samantha, who many viewers remember for the particularly revealing, bright orange dress that she wore on the day.
It was highly speculated that Dan and Sam were dating while he was ‘married’ to Sandy, however, he has since clarified that the relationship began after filming wrapped.
“Samantha and I were just friends. And we’ve been friends for a couple of years now,” Dan said during an appearance on Fitzy & Wippa this morning.
He continued, “I left the experiment in September last year. And Samantha and I got together for the very first time mid January this year. So you know you tell me if you’re dating someone for six weeks, how long should you leave it before you move on to somebody else?”
When asked whether he was in love now, Dan gave a guarded answer.

“I am in a really really great place. I have an amazing relationship that I’m developing and we’re getting along with our with our lives,” he replied.
The radio hosts caught up with Sandy after interviewing Dan, who commented on snide comments that Samantha made about her at the wedding.
“There was a lot of girls at the wedding. A few of them he had told me about they were all friends of his. To be honest, I didn’t really remember Sam. Like, I think back now and like a year and I was just I thought everyone was really friendly and nice watching the wedding. I didn’t realize half the comments that were being said. But yeah look the more I’m knowing about Dan it’s not surprising,” she said.
