Daniel Holmes has suggested that MAFS alum Selina Chhaur is only rejoining the upcoming season because she “acts like a victim”.
Selina Chhaur – who starred in the most recent season of MAFS – posted an Instagram story last month that showed Sydney’s Skye Suites apartments, which is the building where filming for Married at First Sight 2023 is currently taking place. She captioned the video “I’m back”.
Daniel Holmes – who was an intruder on the same season that Selina originally starred in – told his followers he’d love to appear in another reality show, then took aim at Selina, suggesting that the only reason she was invited back to the show was because she acted “like a victim”.
“It’s so funny with TV s**t. Have you seen that Cody’s girlfriend from MAFS is going to be going back for another season like that Lizzie chick did?” He asked his Instagram followers in an Instagram story.
He added, “it’s just like f**k me hey. This is a chick that has done multiple TV shows in the past. All you have to do is – anyway that applies for MAFS, in the future, take this advice – act like a victim, bro. Trust me, act like a victim. Oh god, I wish I acted like a victim.
Daniel continued his tirade by saying that he doesn’t think Australia will want to watch Selina attempt to find love. “I don’t know if people really want to see her back on TV. At least that Lizzie chick was kind of crazy and s**t and a bit entertaining. But, you know, people do love a love story. But, it’s not even love.”
Selina was paired with Cody on season nine of MAFS and the couple made national headlines when her on-screen partner Cody Bromley admitted he wasn’t attracted to her partly because of her Asian ethnicity.

During the jarring scene, Selina asked Cody; “Is the lack of interest, attraction and affection due to my nationality and look?”
He responded, “I think it did honestly have something to play on it initially.”
“I’m not racist by any means but it’s not something I’m familiar with. To be honest… the short answer is it probably did.”
Cody then told producers, “Selina’s nationality, or ethnicity or however you want to phrase it, is not a big deal.”
“Selina typically isn’t my type, I do usually go for that blonde, surfy look, that’s just what I’m magnetised towards and what I’ve always gone for on the Northern Beaches.”
Cody broke up with Selina just 24 hours after the reunion was filmed.
