If betting odds are any indication of who will win the upcoming MAFS fight, it appears as though one of the show’s villains Daniel Holmes will be taking home the gold medal.

Former MAFS co-stars Brent Leon and Daniel Holmes will be going head to head in the boxing ring this weekend, and the odds are clearly skewed in Daniel’s favour. Australian betting site Palmer Bet is paying out $1.50 for Daniel $2.15 for Brent. This means that if a punter bets $1, they’ll receive $1.50 if Daniel wins and $2.15 if Brent wins.

Brent and Daniel both starred in season nine of Married at First Sight. While Brent quickly built up a strong fan base and was perceived positive, Daniel was generally regarded in a negative light. The backlash he received was largely connected to his ‘affair’ with his co-star Carolina.

Daniel was originally partnered with Jessica Seracino on MAFS and his co-star Carolina was partnered with Dion Giannarelli. Jessica left the experiment before Daniel pursued Carolina, however, Carolina was still partnered with Dion when she was secretly meeting up with Daniel and hooking up with him. When the other participants found out about the affair, both Daniel and Carolina received a lot of backlash and were ostracised from the group.

Daniel initially broached the idea of Brent facing off with him in a boxing match in an Instagram video back in June, an offer Brent quickly accepted.

“Brent is literally the only person from this season of MAFS that I just am not a fan of,” Daniel told his followers in a selfie video.

He continued, “Even after the show aired this guy was making [Instagram] live videos… asking his followers if they have any dirt on me and asking for naked photos of me, and it’s like who is this guy?”

“Why are you so obsessed with me, bro? Like it’s insane.

“It’s very obvious Tamara [Djordjevic, Brent’s MAFS wife] didn’t want a bar of you because you made it very evident behind the scenes that you just couldn’t wait for your influencer career moving forward.

“And, hey, look who’s announced he’s a full-time influencer now? So look, bro, October 17, let’s do it.”

A few minutes later, Brent accepted the challenge during an Instagram live with fellow MAFS star Al Perkins.

“Beautiful. It’s on. It’s gonna be fun,” Brent said.

The fight was later confirmed to take place on October 15th at Melbourne Pavillion and will be streamed on Club Zone Live. While Daniel and Brent are headlining the event, Fellow MAFS season nine alum Jackson Lonie will face off with former MAFS villain Sam Cararro in a separate round.
