Jesse Burford has set the record straight about his ex-partner Claire’s trip to Perth that was discussed in the MAFS commitment ceremony reunion.

Throughout the reunion dinner party and commitment ceremony, viewers were teased about the possibility of Claire and Jesse rekindling their relationship. Both parties seem interested in a reconciliation, and at the end of the final episode, Jesse revealed that his ex was coming to his hometown of Perth.

However, he has since clarified that Claire wasn’t intending to come to Perth to see him but rather to see one of their co-stars.

“Only one thing to clarify: The whole ‘she’s coming to Perth’ thing: Claire said she’s coming to Perth for the UFC and
for Lyndall’s birthday party – not because she wanted to continue romantically exploring with me,” he wrote in the Facebook group Married At First Sight Uncensored.

He added, “Unsurprisingly, she didn’t end up coming to the above anyway. Simple as that.”

“I’m very pleased with the finale, aside from the ‘Perth’ implications – it was pretty accurate.”

In another comment, Jesse told the group that the last time he and Claire spoke was February 1st “wishing each other the best” which was the day after the season premiered.

Jesse from MAFS posts about Claire

In the same post, Jesse shared some insight about why all of the MAFS couples weren’t shown on the couch at the commitment ceremony. The episode only saw Jesse and Claire, Melinda and Layton, Dan and Sandy, Tahnee and Ollie, Cam and Lyndall, and Duncan and Alyssa speak to the ‘experts’.

“No idea why they didn’t air Bronte and Haz. You didn’t see Shannon and Caitlin (which was absolutely brutal) or Josh and Mel either,” Jesse wrote in the group.

“The 3 remaining couples: Janelle and Adam, Rupert and Ev, and Tayla and Hugo weren’t filmed.”
