MAFS stars Melinda and Layton have opened up about how they find time out of their busy schedules to prioritise their relationship.

Melinda is the CEO of four companies: Feather Sisters, MW Lashes, BSSA, and Melly’s Beauty Parlour, while Layton was the founder and CEO of CannPal Animal Therapeutics Ltd, but left the company to join MAFS.

Sunday night’s episode saw the couple commit to each other at final vows, and choose to leave the show to pursue a relationship on the outside.

Melinda and Layton sat down with Who Magazine for a chat about where their relationship stands now and addressed what they are doing to make it work.

Melinda told the publication that her and Layton spend time apart the concentrate on work, but when they’re together they give each other their undivided attention.

“We enjoy our own space and our time together, so it will work out really well. The way we’re looking at it is when we’re away we’re distracted, when we’re together, our time will be special.”

Elsewhere in the interview Melinda and Layton both admitted that they were negatively influenced by other couples during the experiment

“You’re stuck in this bubble. You get involved in each other’s relationships like a family. You want the advice, you want to give the advice, it’s kind of a support network. When one couple’s rocky, it disrupts the group and the relationships within it,” Melinda said.

Layton added: “I found it really challenging. Other couples prevented us from being able to focus on us 100 per cent. Sometimes you get stuck in their drama.”

Out of the couples that made it to the final commitment ceremony, only Melinda and Layton and Ollie and Tahnee decided to move forward with their relationships. Sunday night’s episode of the reunion dinner party will see all participants return and is bound to be packed with drama.
