Cast your mind back to early February: MAFS was only a few episodes in, and we’d only just been treated to a bunch of leaked voice messages where Bronte told her friend she’d lead on her partner, Harrison, in the experiment.

ICYMI, In the first episode of season ten of MAFS, viewers saw Bronte and Harrison exchange vows at the alter. While Bronte was initially pleased with her match, later in the ceremony she received news that Harrison had a girl on the outside that he planned on reuniting with once filming for the show wrapped.

After finding out the news, Bronte confronted Harrison. who admitted that he’d been seeing someone shortly before he entered the show, but maintained that he was single and allowed to do what he wanted before filming began.

Then, leaked voice notes revealed that Bronte actually knew about Harrison’s history, and plotted with her friend to play it up to her advantage. Bronte told her friend in a voice note published by Daily Mail Australia that if she’s matched with Harrison she will use this information as a way to gain more exposure.

Months later, Bronte has finally addressed the voice notes and defended herself by saying that the things she said were fuelled by emotion.

“I went on a rant to a friend and I was like, ‘I’m gonna act like this… I’m gonna do that’, which is so far from how I acted whatsoever,” she told So Dramatic!.

“At the end of the day, all I can say is that I really f*cked up by saying that. I feel terrible, but I can’t apologise because I really don’t think that what I said was wrong.”

The former MAFS bride continued to defend herself.

“I don’t think anyone would be happy to hear that their potential match was going to be dating other people,” Bronte said. “Was it really 100 per cent serious? Probably not.”

“But I’m going on a show where people get accused of being fake every season, and it just completely took over the internet.

“So I don’t blame people for thinking that I was fake, because I would hear those voice notes and go, ‘It doesn’t match what’s going on on the show’.”
