This year’s ultimate MAFS villain, Selin, has broken down in tears during a radio interview while saying that her “husband” Anthony pressured her to sleep together on their wedding night.

The first episode of season 9 saw Selin and Anthony have a beautiful fake marriage in which everything seemed to go swimmingly. However, on their “honeymoon” the couple started to butt heads and it’s been a long downwards spiral ever since.

During the subsequent events, Selin called Anthony a “princess” and asked if he was and asked if he was going to have a “boo hoo” when he shared some vulnerable feelings. Selin conducted a bit more emotional bullying in the scene, and Anthony ended up storming out of their honeymoon and heading home.

However, Anthony stayed on the show in an attempt to mend their relationship – an act that hasn’t gone too well. Last night, viewers saw Selin write “stay” at the commitment ceremony, but she wrote the word so small that it was barely legible.

Selin has received much backlash from viewers for her actions, and many have labelled her as a “bully”. Now, Selin has spoken out against the accusations, explaining why she was acting the way she was on a segment during the Kyle and Jackie O this morning.

“It’s just not fair that I’m dealing with this backlash when I said ‘No’. I said ‘no’ to a few things and he persisted. I’ve gone into protective mode and it’s really hard,” accusing Anthony of pressuring her into sexual intercourse.

The MAFS star went into further details about the accusations.“On the wedding night I asked not to sleep in the same bed because I didn’t want to. I’m not that type of person. It’s OK for people to be like that but I just didn’t feel comfortable and he persisted and they persisted,” she said, not clarifying who she meant by “they”.

“I said ‘no’ … and he continued to do so,” she added, before saying that Anthony allegedly told her that they needed to sleep together. “’We need to do it, we need to do it, it’s not a big deal,’ all this stuff. I even went to the extent of building a pillow fort,” she told the radio hosts.

“I didn’t want to, I offered to sleep on the couch,” she added.

However, a spokesman at Channel nine has refuted the damning allegations. “There is never any pressure put on participants in regards to sleeping arrangements,” the statement began.

It continued, “Nine and Endemol Shine takes its obligations in respect to the health and wellbeing of the participants of this program extremely seriously. All participants have access to the show psychologist during filming, during broadcast and once the program has ended.”

“Nine also have an additional service for participants should they like or need further individual and confidential psychological support. This service gives participants access to clinicians who have been specifically engaged to support those involved in the program in relation to their experiences.

“This service is available to all participants for as long as they need it, it does not end,” the statement concluded.
