Get excited, Wes Anderson aficionados: Margot Robbie has joined the cast of the beloved director’s latest film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Margot Robbie will play a supporting role in the upcoming Wes Anderson feature that is set to begin shooting in Spain later this month.
Along with Robbie, other cast members include veteran stars of Anderson’s films like Adrian Brody, Tilda Swinton and Bill Murray, as well as newcomer Tom Hanks.
Currently, the film’s plot details remain under wraps, as does the exact nature of Robbie’s role.
The casting announcement comes in what has been a busy time for Robbie, whose latest film The Suicide Squad has just hit theatres in Australia.
On top of that, she is also currently filming Oscar-winning director Damien Chazelle’s latest film Babylon, which will see her reunite with her Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-star Brad Pitt.
As if that wasn’t enough, she also recently wrapped production on an untitled David O. Russell feature and is set to play a doll in the Greta Gerwig film Barbie.
Meanwhile, fans are still patiently awaiting the release of Anderson’s most recent film The French Dispatch, which had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival last month.
Originally slated for release in July 2020, the movie has been subject to several delays due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
If all goes to plan, however, it will finally be released in cinemas for the general public on Friday, October 22nd.
The film’s cast of Anderson mainstays like Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand and Jason Schwartzman, as well as new inductees including Benicio del Toro, Elisabeth Moss, Jeffrey Wright and Timothée Chalamet.
