Kenobi is arguably the most anticipated Star Wars project since The Force Awakens and will see the return of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. Kathleen Kennedy has teased the series will have the “rematch of the century”, although this could be a Force vision or a dream sequence.
In a recent interview, Ewan McGregor was asked about his upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series and what he said, in tandem with some of Kathleen Kennedy’s previous remarks, will get fans of the famous lava-drenched Mustafar sequence excited.

When speaking about the filming process and how McGregor enjoyed working with Deborah Chow and Hayden Christensen he said this, “It was a great experience. Deborah Chow directed all the episodes and she’s really good. She directed a couple [episodes] of The Mandalorian and she’s a really great director. She really knows the Star Wars world, inside out, far more than I do (laughs). We just had a great time.”
McGregor continued with a hint of a reunion to come, “I think it’s no secret that Hayden Christensen comes back and we got to play scenes together again as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker … It’s really going to satisfy Star Wars fans”
Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to debut in May of this year on Disney Plus.
