Swedish roots band Markandeya have announced an Australian tour, with an intimate one-off show scheduled in for Sydney.

After touring and releasing albums for over a decade with the reggae band Kultiration, Marcus Berg (vocals) and Anders Augustsson (guitar) formed Markandeya, and released their debut album Mirror Of Words – Part One in 2012. The second part in the trilogy is due to be released in March, and will blend elements of pop and roots to create uplifting, life-affirming music for heart and soul.

The band will be performing as part of One Spirit Tribe, a night of music that looks to unite the Sydney, Byron and Bali spirits as one tribe. Also performing will be Dustin Thomas, Chad Wilkins, Rob Weber, Vaani (Jo Mall Kahn), Rendra Freestone and the Bali Spirit Festival Collective.

Markandeya perform at One Spirit Tribe at Paddington Uniting Church on Saturday March 14. Tickets are $55 and available from TryBooking.
