Gone are the days of picking up drunken Dominos on the way home after a night out; now, you can now revel in greasy faux-Italian goodness in the very venue itself.
Starting today, the good folks behind iconic bar and burger joint Mary’s are bringing their spin on pizza to The Lansdowne in Sydney.
The brand new Mary’s Pizzeria is now open within the venue, ready to feed the masses who flock to the bar/live music venue/trivia hub/all around good time seven days a week.
Though started as a bar, Mary’s is more known for their burgers these days. Popping up at festivals, street food fairs, and even a new location on Castlereagh St in the CBD, their reach extends far beyond the graffitied walls of their home-base in Newtown.
The all new pizza menu is an exploration of Jake and Kenny’s — the grand lords of Mary’s — passion for modern day street food, lovingly referred to as “shit fast food.”
“We wanted to explore the world of Pizza that exists outside of Italy, so we Modelled it on two distinct pizza styles. The Classic New York style, and a fucked up Detroit square pizza.” said Jake Smyth.
NY Style Pizza with a 72 hour fermented dough to maximise flavour, using the finest Italian and Australian ingredients. Detroit squares are the pan pizzas of your youth, with a cheesy crust that made Matty Mathewson weep.
