In order to apply for the next season of Australian Masterchef, all you’re required to do is submit four photos – one of yourself, and three of dishes that you’ve cooked.

Casting is open and applicants are additionally encouraged to submit an audition video, however, this step isn’t compulsory. “Feel free to upload a 1-3 minute video of yourself displaying your skills in the kitchen as well as introducing to us who you are and what food/cooking means to you,” the Masterchef site means, adding: “This video is encouraged but not mandatory.”

Potential contestants must also ensure that they are amateurs, and have no history of being a professional cook or chef. “You cannot have any formal tertiary or other professional cooking qualifications acquired in the last 10 years,” the site reads, adding: “Your main source of income cannot come from preparing and cooking fresh food in a professional environment (e.g. restaurants, hotels, cafes, catering etc) or within the digital environment (eg. online paid or sponsored content relating to cooking and/or food, paid cooking classes etc.).

According to the terms and conditions on the Masterchef site, applications will close at 11.59pm on Sunday 14th August 2022. If you’re interested in competing on the next season of Masterchef, you can apply here.

The winner of MasterChef season 14 was crowned just last night in an exciting finale. Series seven winner Billie McKay beat out season six contestant Sarah Todd for the top spot.

The two-time champ just barely came away with a victory, attaining a final score of 58 to Sarah’s 56.

Taking to her Instagram, Billie shared a brief message to fans about her second MasterChef victory.
